I really don't want to hear it looping 24/7 and doesn't this eat up processing power? Do you prefer to shut your computer down or set a sleep mode for it ?
-
I shut it down and unplug it. I spent too much time on it for it to be damaged by a power surge or lightning strike.
-
Not only that but you are wasting power. Even a modest pc eats up a lot of juice for you to have a glorified screen saver running.
If I've set it up for others to play I might leave it running until they leave, but other than that... no it goes off when I'm done playing.

OMG QFT.

I only turn stuff on if I'm going to play it. Why waste power/stress components?
-
I leave them running if I'm in the room and want the ambiance. I only play them for 5 minutes each month to submit a pitiful score to our competitions.

That's why my frontend has a built in screen saver. It pauses the frontend, stops the sounds, saves the CRT from burn in, and leaves the CPU sitting at 0% usage.
