Title: Coin Door Repair - What Type of paint
Post by: MamedInCanada on August 02, 2014, 02:26:08 pm
I have a huge chunk of paint missing on a coin door that is rusted. I've used rust remover. If I paint it, the thickness won't match up so I'm gonna use a little spot putty. However, I was wondering: What type of paint is on coin doors? It seems to be thick and have a sort of wave / crackle effect?

I used hammered rustoleum

It depends on the door. My go-to are:

Rustoleum Hammer Finish. Comes out a touch gray though. So a quick light coat of black gloss overtop fixes that perfect.

Rustoleum textured finish is used on some doors as well, duller finish, and more sandlike texture.

Ditto the hammered with a black topcoat. It's a side by side match with a good black enamel topcoat.
