Are those guys useful for anything? I say them on sale at big lots for 18 bucks, so I thought I would ask.
I was thinking for a cheap lan party they would be good, but then again, you'd need a wireless receiver.

from the comment section of a youtube vid showing it on the PC
RBR with Microsoft Wireless Speed Wheel on the PC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNorXpyQujo#ws)
I have the wheel, I can confirm it works great on PC (but not on all games because some detect it as a 360 pad and put a huge deadzone) and has NO lag whatsoever and a great precision
seems like a toss up. you can usually find the official xbox wheel on craiglist for $25 to $50. thats seems like a better bet

I was thinking maybe for hacking purposes. They were only 18 bucks at the Big Lots. Now if they came with the adaptor that'd be a deal.

here's my wild idea. You could make a stand up arcade become a stealth racing arcade with this and some hacking. Instead having a fixed wheel in the middle of player 1 and player 2 like i do on my half and half arcade (ugly), you can have a detachable wheel that latches on to a spinning bolt to get more of a racing feel. Do you follow?

A wheel attachment like so in the center where you can attach and detach the wheel discreetly. Pull up a stool and you know have the best of both worlds. Full arcade and a steath racer for when you want to race.

Yeah that's more along the lines of what I was thinking. They actually sell a wheel base for the wiimotes btw and because the market was over-saturated with wii plastic crap, you can get one for a song..... hmmm ... forget the 360 wheel, I might want to make a mount so I can use my rig with Mario kart 8. ;)

Thats an option. You could also mod the wii side of the wiiU with quadforce and get mario kart gp and f-zero Ax. but you would lose regular wii loading. Or just have a spare wii running quadforce, they are cheap now, you can find them on CL for 50$. i just picked up a spare wii from the goodwill online auction site for 55$ shipped with alot of extra stuff
-
cow boom had wii's for 20 bucks today.
I should have picked one up as my wii's drive is dead, but ah well.
-
no kidding. i would have pickup some spares. I just checked and they are sold out of the 20$ ones.
-
been tempted many times, but would have to buy the receiver...
-
You can get the generic ones for about 8 bucks, sometimes less. BUT if you were to use them in a LAN situation you'd need a receiver for each pc, so suddenly it isn't that much of a deal.

No lag? Accurate? Highly suspect.
Changing batteries every month... guaranteed.
