Title: Marquee on portrait screen
Post by: tx2000 on July 21, 2014, 06:28:50 pm
I am building a bartop portrait arcade.  I am using a 22 lcd.  The question is: is there a way that i can use the top part if the lcd to display the marquee?  I am running win7 32 on a mac mini.  Everythings runs great.

You can do it with artwork files within mame. Not sure about other emulators tho.

I have an artwork file somewhere I can sort out for you if you need it. Try here in the meantime  --> http://mamelayplus.jimdo.com/?mobile=1 (http://mamelayplus.jimdo.com/?mobile=1)

*sigh*

Go to my site... download mamehooker.  Use the marquee example I've included in the tutorials.  It's far less painless than the mame artwork method.

You can also directly call mamehooker commands via the command line, so if your front-end allows you to launch an exe prior to loading the game it'll work for that.  There are other methods mamehooker supports as well.

Basically get to the site and start reading.

Now you idgits, that's not why I'm sighing.

This question has been asked at least a half a dozen times in the past few months.  Heaven forbid anyone would actually search the forums to see if anyone has had a similar problem before asking a question.

What everyone fails to realize is that Howard's precious, precious time was wasted.

There's many ways to skin a cat and layouts work for my build so apologies if this has been answered before. The name mamehooker would indicate that this works with mame. Can it work with model 2 and 3 emulators? If so then that would solve the problem I have my build.

The name mamehooker would indicate that this works with mame the street corner under the bridge.
