Title: G27 Nixim Brake Mod
Post by: TIGER8855 on July 21, 2014, 05:56:17 pm
Has anyone tried the Nixim brake Mod on their G27. I'm keen to do it on mine due to the positive feedback I've heard.

Also keen to hear about the Nixim gas and clutch mod or any other mods that can be done to the G27.

I've watched the videos about the load cells.  This business about putting a kit kat in the spring seems out there .;P  Is that wax?  Or rubber?

Have only done the brake mod, braking is much more realistic as you can really stamp on the brake.

There is a little rubber block which you can trim to your personal preference.

If you are wanting to save money, just put some bungee cords on the bottom pivot of the brake ... that'll give you more tension.  Or I've seen people do stuff as simple as jam a rubber stress ball under the pedal.

Load sensors are an overly expensive for games that I can assure have 256 analog steps at the maximum.  Trust me on this... all games use a single byte (aka 256 steps) for brake data.

After doing some research I've purchased the GTEYE Brake spring. Similar to the Nixim but without the rubber piece.

Will post up my opinion of it once I install.

I believe iracing uses 1024.  When I plug in my pedals with PS2 into the fanatec wheel it feels different  than when I plug in the pedals with USB right into the PC (trail breaking is much easier) ; but only for that game. They feel the same in things like Model 2, MAME, etc
