Does anyone have the box (and maybe manual) to the Nes version of City Connection? If so, then can you scan the front of the box VERY HIGH RES. And maybe some of the more interesting bits of the manual.
Finally found a city connection board and marquee. There is no way I am ever going to find the sideart or overlay, and thus I am going to have to produce my own.
-
My boardset and marquee are both on the way, still need those scans though.

I will look for the book, also, here is the pinout

Thanks, I have already seen those scans (I have the second of the large marquees on the way). Didn't recall seeing that instruction card before though, that should be easy to print.
I need the box scanned WAY BIGGER. I need to be able to use the box artwork as a basis for sideart, so I need it scanned at like 300 dpi or 600-1200 dpi would be even better.
My boardset came today, it looks to be in good shape, much better than the old one I used to have (which was all beat up and had broken traces). Serial number was just over 400. It seems like every City Connection board I have ever heard of had a serial between 300 and 400 or so (my old one was 311, and the other ones I have heard of where in the 300s). They might have very well started off the serials at 300, and then only made 100-200 boards. This is certainly a rare game, NO ONE, literally NO ONE has an entire machine, I can't even find a web reference to an entire machine anywhere (none turned up at auction, none spotted anywhere, none ANYWHERE). There was a complete working "Cruisin" that turned up in Arizona a few years ago though (a clone).
I used to have a City Connection harness (handmade), but I cut it up for the wires and connector after I had given up on ever getting another boardset, but I can always make another.
-
One final plea to ANYONE who might be able to scan the box and manual cover to this game at really high res. I now have marquee, 2 working boardsets (One City Connection, one Cruisin'), and harness.
-
what about posting a message on an NES forum? Theres got to be some hardcore people out there who have the box, mint, kept in a sealed case. It's worth a try... especially for City Connection!!
Talk about the most addictive song ever...

You could either buy it or see if he can scan it for you. You likely wont be outbid since apparantly I was the first person to look at the page.
Good luck. (ps. it's not my auction :P )

Well the cover for the MSX version is big enough to be vectored :)
the colours re simple and lines re easy to read it be good for sideart
i hope this helps you :)

The master system box scan in this thread should be just fine, I can work with that.
Actually, I can't work with that (only know photoshop, don't know Illustrator), but I BET someone here could do it.
-
Specifically if anyone wants to give this a shot, then let me give you the details of how I want it.
I want the orange car in it (obviously). I want the title in it.
Now here is the kicker. I want the sideart to be round or oval, not a rectangle. Rectangular sideart screams "conversion game".
I have also decided that I DO NOT like the original City Connection marquee, which was likely a bootleg anyway, since the car on it looks NOTHING like anything in the game, so I also need a marquee based on the more common console logo for the game.

Working on vectorizing the master system box scan.
I'll finish vectorizing the graphic and you can do whatever you'd like with it :) Dunno when it'll be done though, but I'll be as quick as I can with it :)
(graphic will be updated when changed, but you may need to refresh)

Awesome so far, thank you so much. I don't have a cabinet for the machine yet, so it will be a while before I NEED this stuff.
I am also going to be doing a "dedicated" Uo Poko, but someone else who also is making one is doing the artwork on that,
-
I'm just wondering is that the vector of the nes cover or the MSX cover cause it looks like the MSX cover?
just wondering :)

Maybe someone thinks MSX stands for "Master System"?

Maybe someone thinks MSX stands for "Master System"?
No i know MSX doesnt stand for Master System but then again did u even look at the box? its for NINTENDO not SEGA MASTER SYSTEM :P
besides i asked if it was the MSX cover cause he has vectoried the cop car at the edge but in the NINTENDO cover up above there is more clouds amd another cop car.
Thats why i asked if it was from the MSX box cause it starts and stops exactly where the cover does.
I'm guessing u never knew the difference between nintendo and sega :P

Ehm ... you're barking up the wrong tree dude ;D
I did only see MSX and Nintendo pictures too. So I was wondering if the people who stated they saw a master system box picture were perhaps confused. But then, they might have used a picture that I missed somewhere.
ps. If you think someone says something completely ridiculous, you better think again. You're often the one who misunderstood the message yourself. :P
