Title: What Ohms should the volume control rheostat rheostat be?
Post by: rmontgomery2 on July 17, 2014, 03:03:27 am
The rheostat volume control on my Rowe R-91 jukebox is not working.  It is either no volume or full volume.  I found some rheostats on Ebay that look like my part but they are rated by different ohms  Does anyone know what ohms rating I would need or where I could find a jukebox volume control?::::

Hi rmontgomery2,

Welcome to he forum. We like names on this forum, it tends to make it friendlier and ifyou include your location this helps to give you advice on where to get parts and servicing from.

The control you require is a 10k log control.

Make sure you get the log version.  On my first cab I used a linear pot not knowing the difference...  Took me a week before it clicked in my head why the volume seemed to not work right.  Damned logarithmic decibel scale.
