Title: Sega Amplifier Issues
Post by: ryandoesntstress on July 10, 2014, 04:10:06 am
Getting very low volume from one channel coming out of my Sega 838-8689 SA-YST1 amp. (From Virtua Racing). I've confirmed that both speakers are working fine but have no idea where to start troubleshooting an amp like this. Any suggestions?

looks like it's been wet. (rust/board crusties/etc.)

remove the amp board and check it over for rotten jumper links and bad solder.

water rusts out jumper links and leaded components like resistors and capacitors and causes the resistance to go up on them.

replace anything that looks suspicious. then go from there.
