Did someone try Winreducer to tear down the useless stuffs for an arcade cabinet?

What version of windows are you using? I am hesitant between 7 or 8.1. ???

I have never used it.. But when he called Windows 8 vastly superior... I lost all faith in him as a programmer :)

I'm using windows 8.1. In my testing, windows 8 was the fasted to boot out of all xp, 7 and 8.

Try Server 2012 R2. It is the same Kernel family as 8, without the bloat that add adds. I run it for my Pinball Cabinet.. and it boots to PinballX from power off in 13 seconds.

That's a lot of money to pay just to shave a few seconds off the boot time. How much did you spend on you pinball cab, and what percentage of that was for the server license?

Well, I work in the IT sector. So I have a couple spares licenses for testing purposes. So it cost me nothing. But I have about 5K in my Pinball cabinet.

What did you do? Hire a guy to build it for you or literally build it out of money?
Even using top of the line parts with no discounts
Playfield monitor = $1000
Backglass monitor = $200
Wood = $300
Computer = $1000
Misc (buttons, legs, ect)= ~$200
That's only $2700 bucks and that is taking into account you lack the ability to shop around and get deals.

There are also side rails, lockdown bar, solenoids, relays, shaker, flashers, etc.. but that does seem a little steep.

New Contactors at $50 each There are 9. I built a POWER house of a computer for it, that was about $1500, I hired a comic book artist to design the graphics for me, that wasn't cheap. I gave it every single bell and whistle, Shaker motor, Rare TF Art for the Topper, Gear motor, 400W sound system with Sub, LOTS of RGB lighting. That wasn't cheap either. No expense was spared on the build. But it was worth every single penny.
I originally TRIED to cheap out on some items, and it bit me in the butt. Like used contactors. I bought 16 used ones, none had the THUMP I was looking for. So those are sitting in a pile somewhere in the garage, for future use. I also tried to cheap out an not use Zeb's boards. Big mistake. But the mistakes are not tally'd in the cost.

Yes because it makes perfect sense to put a 400watt audio system in a cabinet where most of the games do 16 bit audio at best. ::) I know that some people like to add a solenoid here and there to fake the sound, but I'm completely lost as to why you would need all that other stuff for a video pin.
Forgive me, I don't mean to insult but you like one of the hipsters that didn't do their research like Kanaeda.

Didn't do my research? because I built one of the most optioned out Pinball Cabs. If you don't know what the stuff is for, it is you who has not done any research.
As for the sound system, the Pinball Machine also happens to be a jukebox. Any other reasons are simply because I could.
