As many of you know I have a hearing impaired household and from time to time we try and hunt down old movies to watch and have to wrangle with the subtitles. Current quest is House and House II: The Second Story. Some of the finest *snicker* comedy horror of the 80s.
In this case I can find cheap copies on Amazon thankfully but don't know if they have english subtitles. Anybody have these gems in their collection and care to check for me? The copies I have don't have cc and it turns out that my wife, who loves the series, has NEVER seen House with cc.
This is a data call know but would appreciate the assist if anybody can take the time to check on an actual copy if they have one. My VHS tapes are wearing thin lol. Thanks!

The only subtitles I've found for House (1986) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091223/?ref_=tt_rec_tt) and House II: The Second Story (1987) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093220/?ref_=nv_sr_1) are foreign language.
House has Spanish, Turkish, Portuguese, Hungarian, Serbian, Polish, Portuguese, Dutch, Slovenian, Romanian, French, Croatian, Bulgarian, Finnish, Czech, and Estonian subtitles available here (http://subtitlesbank.com/subtitles/movieid-56008/).
House II has Polish, Dutch, Portuguese, Hungarian, French, Norwegian, Greek, Turkish, and Spanish subtitles available here (http://subtitlesbank.com/subtitles/movieid-73175/).

Hey Le Chuck, You know you are meant to hit up your main man for subs first :) lemme see if I have subs on the set I have, all 4 House movies in a bundle.
No joy this time, Looks like House and House II do not have any subtitles, They have them for 3 & 4 but not 1 & 2 :dunno :dunno

I was just typing a reply to Scott about how much I didn't feel like translating the French subs but might have to do exactly that when I went to post and boom, you had swooped in.

Sorry no joy this time, and as it is the special edition with remastered 5.1 I'm suprised they didn't do any subs. House 3 is pretty good too, although I preferred shocker at the time.

I suspected as much, why I didn't just order the discs. Fiddle.

Le Chuck - Do you have Netflix? House and House II are available on Netflix and I believe you can enable CC on Netflix. At least until you get those winners on disc. ;D

I do not, the backwater of AL I live in barely has flush toilets. Actually, we just suffer under the yoke of monopolized internets and poor bandwidth like any other rural area. Anybody know if you can rip subs from Netflix? ::)
I'll start translating this week, it'll give me something to do at work when I should be working but there aren't any new posts to read on the boards lol

So I just checked Netflix:
House (1971) - Not found on Netflix
House II: The Second Story (1886) - Confirmed to have English Captioning on Netflix.
I'm running a Roku box which has a simple A/V composite out on it (Red audio, White audio, Yellow video).
Can't be too hard right?
