Title: Q*Bert Knocker placement question
Post by: Sky25es on June 14, 2014, 10:56:57 am
I want to add a Q*Bert knocker to my cabinet but I'm not sure where to install it. Does someone knows where it's placed in an original cabinet ? (a picture would be nice  ::))

I think it goes on the back of the coinbox: http://www.arcaderestoration.com/Journals/1/Restorations/33/QBert.aspx (http://www.arcaderestoration.com/Journals/1/Restorations/33/QBert.aspx)

Pg 40 of the Q*Bert manual here (http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-videogames/Q/Q-Bert.pdf), item 16 indicates the general location of the knocker.

A blog post here (http://www.noiselandarcade.net/index.php/category/games/qbert/) has a pic of the knocker.

The blog post here (http://guscade.blogspot.com/2012/10/gottliebs-qbert-1982.html) has a pic of it mounted to the back of the coinbox enclosure -- as Le Chuck mentioned above.

Are you using original circuit boards to drive the solenoid, or using a separate circuit?  I'm curious as I have a Qbert with a physical knocker, but no way to drive the solenoid (dont have the original circuit boards).
