Title: RCA Monitor Quit - Help Needed
Post by: SaskOil on June 12, 2014, 01:51:18 pm
I bought a used Big Buck Hunter game approx 3 months ago and the monitor has quit working on me. The game still boots as per normal but no life on the screen at all. It's making a small beeping noise in the back of the monitor at about 1 second intervals. It is an RCA monitor with tube type A68AEG25X03. I will attach several pics of the monitor and can look closer if there are any other questions about it. Is this something that might be fixed or am I looking at a monitor replacement? If so how would I fix and/or what type of monitor should I replace it with?
Thanks in advance for any help,
           Cheers

i can't even tell what monitor is in that,it must be an older bbh as it looks like a standard resolution analogue judging from the signal connector

anyway if it chirping at you then the over current protection has cut in,most likely the horizontal output transistor is short circuit but there are loads of things that cause this

Thanks for the reply. Is there anything I can do to help you identify the monitor or problem? If this is simply an over current protection is it something that I can fix? I'd really like to get it working for my kids again.
  Thank You

some better photo's of the actual chassis would help
as it will be a US built cab i would expect either wells gardner or neotec monitor-the latter imo as i do not recognize the chassis

tough fix for a novice, but i bet if you locate the horizontal output transistor(which is most likely a 2sc5144) and read it with a multimeter you will most likely find base emitter short circuit

Did you ever figure out what Neo-Tec chassis this is? I just bought a big buck hunter 2 sportsmans paradise and it has this same tube and plays blind but didn't come with a chassis so I would love to know so I get the right one!

Thanks
