Title: Rowe Ami R-82 Memory Board Question
Post by: Otterck on June 09, 2014, 01:46:18 pm
I have owned a Rowe Ami R-82 Woodhue jukebox for a few years.  Over this time I had to replace the rechargeable batteries in the memory card to allow the jukebox to continue functioning properly.  Currently, I tried this again and was unable to get the jukebox to return to normal function.  The symptoms remain that I can charge up the battery pack in the jukebox enough to allow the rotary record holder to not continuously rotate but when I plug in a record to play, the number screen will stay on for a few moments and will clear and the record magazine will continue to rotate non-stop again.  Is this a sign of a larger issue with the memory board or the selection circuit?  Also, when I do get it to drop a record on the turntable,it will barely spin.  I greased the area per the manual but is seems like the spring which holds the spinner that runs the turntable doesn't get good contact with the inside of the turntable.  Is there a place I can find replacement springs for this / is this the real problem??  Any help here is appreciated!

Unfortunately, initially I pre-charged the batteries but the last time I let the box charge it...

Hello Otterck,

It sounds as if now is the time to send in the following boards for testing/repair to a Rowe Ami specialist.

We ask customers to send us the following board to test as a set of boards:-

Mechanism control 401-06905
Memory unit 601-07666
Selector logic 601-08060

Two of these boards have CMOS chips on them that are subject to static discharge so handling is required.

Alan
