Title: best coin buttons
Post by: bimm25e on June 06, 2014, 12:25:53 pm
I am looking for "insert coin" buttons that look like the coin acceptor slots for a custom cabinet I'm working on.

I have found several examples of what im looking for asthetically, like this one > http://www.arcadewinkel.nl/insert-coin-push-for-credit-button (http://www.arcadewinkel.nl/insert-coin-push-for-credit-button)
but I'm more concerned with an option that will MOUNT in place correctly, everything I have been able to find seems to only fit in a circular hole.

Does anyone have a source for a coin up button that is designed to mount in the original rectungular hole above the coin mech.  My cabinet is a dedicated Lethal enforcers, if that makes any difference

I have seen the mods to just mount a microswitch behind the original coin return button and that option is not for me.

thanks!

that is because unless u take it right off of a coin door "which would be squareish"
u will olny find round shaft with a square front beezle, the beezel mount's onto of the cabinet
surface

are you trying to say that these don't exist?  Like it wouldn't be impossible for a button to mount from the bezel would it?

He's saying you might have to do some mods to make it work how you want.

For these:

you can just drill a hole in a piece of plexi, put the button in the front, put he plexi behind the metal, then screw the button ring on. Plexi would provide tension and not let the button fall forward.   The buttons are really designed to be mounted flush against a piece of wood, not to replace the coin slot on a  coin door.

I've made mod for something similar. When I get to a computer I can link to pics and videos.

Edit:  I've attached pics of what I've done to my Stern coin door.

You can also view videos of two coin doors I've modded here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuVGNjg76pY&feature=player_detailpage&list=UUAByuBPBL-WY1AhS0WNnANA#t=89)here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpyqTlVKPHw&list=UUAByuBPBL-WY1AhS0WNnANA&feature=player_detailpage#t=10)here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwZ1kilQYkk&feature=player_detailpage&list=UUAByuBPBL-WY1AhS0WNnANA#t=564)

You can always go with the tried and true method of just mounting microswitches behind your existing coin rejects so that when you press them, the credit switch is activated. Works great with Happ coin doors and good enough with coin control doors. You may have to remove the actual coin reject mechanism for it to go nice and smooth.
Its how I did mine and I've got no complaints.

On my 60 in 1, I just wired a cherry and put it in the coin return:

I just put a switch behind my coin return button and tie it into the coin slot switch. That way you can either put in a quarter, or push the coin return button... Both work.

That how i did it on my mini pinball cap, just push the reject button, and that hits the microswitch
