Title: 60-1 JAMMA how many buttons?
Post by: sollyscomputers on June 04, 2014, 12:17:24 am
Hey,

I'm building a 60 in 1 JAMMA cocktail cabinet and was wondering how buttons are needed.  I see a lot of them have a joystick (obviously) and 3 buttons.  I was wondering what the 3 buttons are used for? what sort of games from the 60 in 1 use 3 buttons.

Sorry for the basic question!

According to Ace amusements ( Link removed since we can not link to xx in 1 boards per forum rules ! ) there is 1 game that requires 3 buttons, 8 that require 2 buttons (including the 2 that also need 2nd set of controls for 2 player simultaneous play) and 4 that use a trackball (though joystick will work on them )

Quote
Trackball Games (trackball optional) -
Centipede
Millipede
Arkanoid
Super Breakout

2 buttons
1942
Phoenix
Scramble
Space Panic
Super Cobra
Xevious

3 buttons
Gun Smoke

2 controls sets for 2 player simul (2 button\joystick per player)
1943
1943 Kai

what JD Fan said.  You can wire the buttons in parallel with the start buttons like I did on my galaga. P1 start is also button 2, and P2 start is button 3.
