Title: Chat Software
Post by: mAdSmuRf on March 19, 2002, 04:52:58 pm
Okay, I know this is not a piece of software that is Emulation related, but it is pretty darn cool.  A friend of mine aimed me at it and I have used it every since I saw it.

This is a Chat program that replaces most of the more popular ones out there now.  It cranks up one program that has different skins to choose your liking.  You can setup the settings to use your AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo & even IRC logins.

All of them are then on one program that is very sleek and has no advertisements at all.  You can even make it all spiffy and transparent.  It's called Trillian and you can DL it @ http://www.trillian.cc/ Freeware

So anyways, I just thought I would share with the world here this fine piece of software.

later,

If oyu are part of the at&t network they have a all in one messenger.

The problem with trillian is they are currently fighting AOL, so sometimes AIM or ICQ won;t work.

Hmmm, interesting... I have not had any problems with it at all as far as that goes.  As a matter of fact, my MSN messenger that you download from microsoft kept booting me out all the time and I have never had that happen to me with Trillian... ah well, I must be lucky I guess.

Yeah, Trillian really kicks ass. I've been using it for months now. It's great to have all the IM networks in one place, including IRC, without any ads or anything. I haven't had any problems with ICQ or AOL either, but it wouldn't surprise me if I did.

I've heard trillian has limitations like it doesn't allow file transferring or webcams or something.  Comments?

I've transferred files to others with AIM and ICQ so far and it worked just fine... haven't checked up on any web cam stuff yet as I don't play with that sorry.

Well, not all features of all IMs are implemented yet, like file transfers in yahoo, chat rooms in icq.  They are getting there.

most everything in aol is implemented though.
