Title: Console to arcade???

Hey guys,

Is it possible to use an XBOX for example and build an arcade machine with it?  Meaning instead of using a PC or JAMMA card, to use a console machine with some kind of converter card to hook up buttons to a control panel?  Am I dreaming or is this possible?

If it is possible, what console machines and any links to tutorials and / or hardware please
