picked up a bad dudes cab, both sticks are trashed and need replaced. I none of my sticks will fit because the leafs are at some weird 30 degree angle or something. Also 2 buttons are miscolored and I have no spare leafs. A red and a Yellow would be awesome to get, I can even send you the orange and white ones in exchange.
Really pushing my luck, but the marquee, bezel and side art also need replaced.......

You don't need the panel nut or anything, just the button? If so I can swing by the local coinop guy on Tuesday when he's open again and grab you some. I'm certain he's got a red and yellow in there as I raid his parts bins regularily. Probably cost you $4.

all I need is the button itself, everything else is there. if he has a complete set that look new snag em for me. thats 4 reds and 4 yellow, cause Data East was left hander friendly. Now to worry about the sticks....

No dice, all the reds had those stupid slam guards. Just two grimey yellows. Didn't bite.

I think I've got these...at least the buttons. From a Bad Dudes cabinet even. The sticks you don't want, they were mismatched and severely trashed. The buttons are decent though, just need a little cleaning up, if you want 'em. Let me know if you are interested and I'll check to make sure I've still got them.

I have red and yellow buttons in my button bin that look like a match.
I have two sets of red that are slightly different shades. they're a bit dirty. I have a bin I toss all leaf switch buttons and holders into from pulling off old control panels and games. but they're in good shape, not worn out or beat up.
the pictures aren't very good. room was too dark.
I don't know if I have any leaf switch bat sticks off hand. I might. i actually have a bad dudes cab that was converted to neo geo but the sticks might be original. I can look in the morning. I don't like bat sticks so if you can use them you can have them. I have a lot of joysticks laying around.

I dont really care if they are switches so long as they'll mount in bad dudes weird ass angled joystick mounts.

they're mounted in a bad dudes now, so I'm assuming they'll fit yours too. I can take a closer look to see if they mangled the control panel in any obvious way to fit them in but I'm guessing they didn't since they're still joysticks.

How did the joysticks get trashed? Did anyone actually play Bad Dudes?
lol, just teasing. Bad Dudes is one of those games that by the time it hit my arcade the whole coin-feeding-beat'em-up genre was played out. It seemed like when I was looking for a game for a long time, Bad Dudes kept coming up.

Welp it was one of those games I played a ton as a kid. I always thought the curved marquee was pretty awesome. Of course Im the kind of guy who wants an Arkanoid cab too, so theres that. The worst part? Theres a silkworm cab for sale too but I cant buy it cause I bought this and Im getting an original MK1 next weekend.

Yeap. I *might* replace it with a fluorescent or LED fixture but that's the last thing I'm worried about for the cab right now

I would just put those curly-q style fluorescent bulbs in place of the incandescent. You're right though, you have bigger problems. Like trying to figure out who to sell this cabinet to. :lol

When I was a kid, a game like this was off my list. I simply couldn't afford to waste a quarter in a game designed to be a pumper. Same with Robotron and Defender. I love them now, but back in the day my mom gave me $1 for the whole night (3 games of bowling).

dont ever plan on selling it. Its not the greatest game in the world, but its simple and fun and will keep my nephews attention

FWIW, I did beat it once. Shoot, I was like 19 and had some disposable income. I bet with some practice I could beat it on a $1 or less. The countdown continue timer bomb screen was a nice touch. Forgotten Worlds was a game I used to beat and would cost me $5, but by the end me and a buddy could beat it on 50 cents each.

speed runs on youtube show it can be done on 1 coin up in about 20 minutes. Just constant spin kicks for the most part. I never finished the arcade version but I did finish the NES version at least once.

Ya know.... the sideart on this cab would look cool inset with a neon ring, like the old knievel neon mame cabinet.

I've guess I always had too much money or too little attention span to be motivated to figure out how to beat an arcade game 50 cents. I watched one of those single credit TMNT playthroughs and it looked mind numbing to play it like that.

agreed I'd rather drop a couple bucks in and have fun then drop in a credit then trog my way through

so all the parts came in and are installed. I'll post up a mini "restore" thread, even though its more of a "refresh" Dont plan on redoing the sides, the control panel is in great shape, and the bezel, while a little faded, is in pretty great shape for a 26 year old cabinet.
