Title: How can you hook up an XBOX (Gen1) to a PC monitor ?
Post by: mike boss on May 22, 2014, 01:53:28 pm
Looking over in the projects thread I got inspired to dig out 1 of 6 "altered" Gen1 XBOX units I have in storage. I know I can use a KADE for the controls, but can I use a PC monitor ? If so how ?

I will confirm now, I've been lazy and not done much looking online.
Can one of these readily available RGB to VGA adapters via eBay do the trick ?

This is the only way to do it and have everything work in HD:

I wouldn't part with mine for less than $100.

neoya adapter , mayflash yuv>vga , hd box or snowmans vga cable . all of em doin well with a vga pc monitor , no matter if its a crt or a tft-lcd .

the neoya is not the only way , but the adapter works fine . 25 $ is a very reasonable price . they usually sell on ebay here around 30-50 eu .

Thank you guys.
HD is of no concern to me.
Something cheap and easy is more of what I'm looking for.

its the cheaper pcb version of the hd box pro . yuv > rgb and by choice with or without scaling . as i explained , there are many ways to put out 31 k vga or higher . in case u need 15 k u may hack a scart cable with rgb output .

Thanks all.
Going to find the one I have in the basement and then look to order the HD XBOX wires.
