Title: Wall Mounted Touch Jukebox Near Complete
Post by: bclinton on May 18, 2014, 01:14:41 pm
I have been working on my wall mounted jukebox for a few months now. I went with a 23 inch Hanspree touch LED and an Intel I3 ITX motherboard. I went with an SSD drive - this thing boots up in about 5 seconds running windows 8. I still have some trim work to do but its just about finished. I went with touch jams (I wish he would put up forums to support it) over E touch. Had a few issues with E touch and they didn't have any 1080P skins. So far so good. I plan on adding a Karaoke monitor in the middle of this later - that is why it is taller than needed.

Yes it does. You can add the program shortcut to the startup folder under all programs. I iuse Teamviewer to remote control the OS when I need to do something. Teamviewer is free and is great when you do not or can not have a keyboard and mouse connected. I installed a standard arcade button on the right and connected it to the power on off posts on the MB. I used an auto sensing power strip from Amazon - what that does is when the MB is powered down it powers down the rest of the thing plugged in to it. When I hit the power button on the MB it powers the other outlets up. That way when it is not used the monitor and other things stay powered off. The wife wasnt too happy about the wall mount but I think it looks great :)

I built a wall-mount, too. Great space saver.

Yup. I think the most time consuming piece was getting the MP3's right. I finally settled with Tag and Rename as the software. Once I learned how to use it, it went pretty fast. Have about 9000 MP3's on it right now....

The tagging of my collection was a pain in the azz! Took a ton of time to get it in order.
None the less it is done and Touch Jams is displaying everything perfect now.
All the art and tags are in place.

I think you can simply put the shortcut in your startup and the PC will boot right into Touch Jams.
I'm yet to try that, but I've done that with programs prior and it worked.

I use Splashtop in connection with my Touch Jams install (on my Android tablet) it is awesome !
Really cool feature is the ability to see the set up mirrord on the tablet.
