It's not the arcade we deserve, but the arcade we need right now.

It's the poor man's Vigolix.

Not everyone has Bruce Waynes bank account.

Meh, I kinda like it.

Well, I'm flattered to see any vigolix. Could be cool if they actually ran with the batman thing going on. I would love it if it even simply had a generic sign saying "Bat-Arcade Machine" on it.

I laughed. Vigolix model 1 cost me $100 with some scrounging. I didn't think it got much "poorer" than that. I gotta make a batch of vigolixes to sell.

I almost started building a vigolix for my back porch last night out of pine planks (what i had on hand) but then decided left over pressure treated wood from my deck project seemed more appropriate for an outdoor cabinet. :)

I would love to see that!

I have most of the boards cut and should have time to figure out how to frame it up this weekend.
If I get that far i'll start a project log.

Well I like it a lot !
He should de-sticker the fightstick, and it should be resting on a closed triangular support though.

So on the instructable i made of the vigolix a few years back, a guy just posted this variant made out of repurposed floorboards. Industrial, yet vogue. 8)

Wow....I really need to start cranking some vigolixes out myself. If someone is willing to pay $300 for that, then I might want to make a run of them.
And for the record, I am quite chuffed every time I see any incarnation of a Vigolix, even ones that are a little disproportionate or unorthodox. Maybe I am helping bring a few people into the hobby, and maybe I am helping some parent pass on something to their kids. A lot of it reminds me of early BYOAC work.
-
If I saw that, and had never heard of emulation of building my own arcade machine I would be throwing wads of cash in his direction. I currently have a small cocktail cab in the works as a project to sell; if I can make $300 from the afternoon I spent on it I will be a happy man.

I want to do one of these vigolixs for Art in the Park. I don't know if anyone besides food vendors can get electricity though. I want to use a widescreen TV and an xbox360 or ps3 to show of a fighting game

Have you looked into using a car battery and an inverter (http://www.amazon.com/ENERGIZER-Inverter-cigarette-lighter-compatible/dp/B00ATXERNO/)? (Not sure how many watts your setup would draw :dunno)

Yeah, while I was typing that, but parking isn't that close.
-
Use a battery from another vehicle, they aren't hard to remove. >:D
You can drag the battery back to the parking lot and recharge it with jumper cables as needed.

HAHA! Pure Evil.
Swear to god, if I came out of the office and someone was the thieving my battery for something like this (or any reason at all), not sure what I would do. You should have seen how pissed I was when someone stole my license plate last month... Livid.
Daylight hours on an active street downtown Calgary next to the Delta Hotel. Must have been someone visiting from Edmonton... Or Montreal... Stupid Habs fans....
-
Interesting interpretation. :laugh2:
I intended to suggest that he borrow the battery from his wife's car, a friend's car, or maybe buy a used one from a you-pull-it car lot.

Sure, likely story.
Nice save.

'Rent' some batteries from Walmart?
Or perhaps a generator from a tool store....?
