Title: Kickplate Layout

Hi everybody,

To keep things interesting, I wont ask for help for my CP in this thread!  ;)

However, I could need some help designing my kickplate.
Mostly this is about positioning the coin slot (I have a single coin acceptor / mech of the CH-926 sorts) and the cutout for my subwoofer.

I remember reading here that it is not too smart to position the coin slot too high, although visually it would be the best looking position for me.
I have attached a rough sketch of my kickplate design:
On the top right there is the coin mech and two switches, one for the main power, the other will function as a Player 1 / Player 2 selector for the coin acceptor.
On the bottom right there's the cutout for the subwoofer. I might cut a shape of some sorts instead of the square.

The height of the kickplate is approx. 750 mm.
What do you say? Is this layout ok?
Would it be better to vertically center both the cutout and the coin slot / switches and position the speaker on the left and the coin mech on the right?

Be informed that there I have no option to horizontally center neither the coin mech nor the speaker.

If you cannot position in the middle then what you have is fine. I would personally port the sub out the back but if You must have it at the front then I presume you will be protecting it from getting kicked/damaged with some kind of grill.

So you'd think the coin acceptor isn't positioned too high?
I just wonder why on most machines the coin accpetors seem to be aligned much lower on the kickplate.

Since I have not much experience with cabinets (at least none that I can think of in that detail):
Do I really have to worry about "kicks" on the kickplate? ???
Does this "happen" or do you have to hit it on intention?

A cardboard mockup of the CP box and kickplate is your friend.

It should help you sort out any possible line-of sight, reach, and placement issues.

OK, I tried it in "real dimensions":
The coin slot stays where it is, the speaker cutout probably goes to the back of the cabinet.
