Title: 6-way switcher voltage drop
Post by: bimm25e on May 05, 2014, 08:37:55 am
So I bought a 6 way Jamma switcher which I am successfully using to switch 6x lightgun games.  Everything works great except for Area 51 - there is too much voltage loss across the switcher for it to function properly.

I am wondering if a capacitor for A51 to ensure 5V, or conversely cranking the power supply and adding resistors to the other 5 boards would be a good idea.

The boards are going to be mostly permanent at this point so I'm okay going with a permanent solution for each board individually.

Any advice?

Is there a type of self-regulating power supply where I can connect a lead to the board and the PSU increases/decreases as necessary?

Also since A51 is my only HDD game, If I go to a Compact Flash setup will I see a lot less power draw/voltage drop from the game?
