I picked up this monitor tonight (from my research i think it is a WG k7000) and it has a few cut wires. I think I know where they all go but I am wondering if it will hurt anything if i splice them back together. Here are a few pictures. What do ya think?

That appears to be a 19" K7000. Splicing the wires will work fine but make sure you solder them well and use really good heat shrink because some of those neck board wires carry some good voltage and you don't want it to jump anywhere.

Thanks for the info. The only other question I have it that there are 2 sets of wires that seam identical coming from the neck board and they are both cut(3 blue and 1 white wire). My question is which goes to which. On image 2 there a set of wires on the top and bottom, and on image 3 there is the other half of a set of wires and an empty socket where the other one goes(i pulled it off to fix). So if we call image 2 top and bottom and image 3 right and left what goes to what.
I hope this isn't two confusing. Also I can upload larger images if that will help.

Unless someone else can chime in first, you'll have to wait until I get home from work to look at a spare one I have before I can answer your question. In the mean time, I would suggest giving that chassis a full cleaning and installing a new flyback/cap kit to ensure many more years of healthy operation.

I would greatly appericate the help. I plan on doing the flyback and cap kit as soon I verify I get a picture from the tube. I was told it works but I want to make sure the tube before I start replacing parts.

You're welcome. Let me know if you get it fired up. If you aren't comfortable doing cap kits, I offer the service. I don't currently have any 19" tubes that are compatible with a K7000, so I wouldn't be able to test it after doing the kit, but I have done MANY of them and I am confident in my work. Just throwing that out there if you haven't done them before or are weary of doing them. No big deal.

Ok, one last question and I should be able to get this thing tested in a day or two when I pick up some solder. I have 2 ground wires coming from the neck board. One goes to a screw on the chassis. My question is the only other cut wire i can find is attached to the tube, does it go there? The wire looks to be the same size and has the same markings.

The two wires coming off the neck board's ground go to the chassis's frame and the tube's braided ground. Make sure one of them goes to the chassis and the other goes to the metal braid that is wrapped around the back of the tube.

Ok, I got it all back together and fired up and the picture is pretty good I have to say but it has a slight jump to it. I tried adjusting the pots but nothing seams to help. Any suggestions?

Can you post a video? Did you try adjusting the V.Hold pot? Is your "sync" wire hooked up correctly? Have you tried a different board to see if it's the board or the chassis causing the problem?

Sorry no video. I did try adjusting all the pots and i am sure the wires are all hooked up correctly. I did try two different pcb and I get the same jumping. Do you think a cap kit or fly back replacement will fix this issue?

Cap kit is always a good idea but no guarantees on fixing your issue. Is the jumping constant? I doubt it's the flyback.

yes, its constant. how about the cap kit, think that would help?

Is it jumping or rolling?
Might be a sync issue and you need to tie them together

are u running it with 15k s/w ?,because i see window's in the picture there.
also u may have a fly back going south..ie that ver sharp white line
u can clearly see every 30-60 sec's

Are you using an isolation transformer? If not, it MUST be used for that model of chassis. Secondly, I'd install a cap kit, new voltage regulator and horizontal output transistor.

OK, I have tried running the monitor with two different jamma pcb's and with the vga to cga converter that is being used in the video and the problem happens with all input signals. I have installed a cap kit already as well and I am using an isolation transformer.
So which do you think would be the best next step, Voltage regulator , horizontal output transistor, or fly back?
