Does anyone know if there's an easy way to export the contents of a customised folder in MAMEUIFX to make an XML file? I've been dragging games I want on my list into a folder in there but now I want those games to show up on my HyperSpin setup and I'm not sure of the easiest way to automate that list short of manually editing it by eye from fresh in a proper List generator...

try romlister's rom scan tool.
all it needs is an input XML file (mame -listxml) and a folder with .zip files that match the rom name used in listxml
you can then output that list directly to a hyperspin list.
if you are using 7z instead of zip, all you need to do is bulk rename *.7z to *.zip, run the scan tool in romlister and then ren *.7z *.zip back again. romlister doesn't actually look inside the file, it just does name matching.

I should clarify - a "folder" in this sense in MAMEUIFX is just a text file in reality. All my Roms are still in one folder. Essentially the text file just lists the rom name one after another. So I'm not sure ROMLister will work (I've already had a brief look anyway). Thanks though.

Can't you just use hyperlist and import the mameuifx generated list? I'm sure you can just paste the game names into hyperlist and then export a hyperspin friendly play list.

If that's possible that would be amazing (I'm at work now so can't try). I've got 500+ games on my favourites list at the moment and it would suck if I have to go through them one by one!

I just logged into hyperlist online and I've attached the photo. As you can see, there are several options which may be of some use to you to be able to get a hyperspin compatible game list.

I had no idea there was an online method - thanks ballboff! Can't test at work but looks spot on!

This worked a treat by the way, thanks ballboff!
