Title: Jukebox to Airplay
Post by: bclinton on April 21, 2014, 09:09:37 am
How are you guys handling the sound from your touch jukebox? Do you have speakers built in? I was thinking of using a pair of speakers but also setting the frontend up to stream via airplay. The room I will have the jukebox mounted has a Yamaha 673 7.1 system in it that is airplay capable. I thought it would be great to have the option to play the songs on that system as well as locally if the Yamaha is on TV or another source.

Absolutely! Go for it

Personally, I set up speakers in my juke, just because it felt a little more "authentic".

But, you could always setup a button on the juke that triggers a script to toggle between the internal speakers and some external audio out port. Then hook up your airport to that and problem solved.

Or just always stream from the juke and choose that input on your yamaha system when you actually want to listen to it elsewhere.

Lots of ways to skin that cat
