Title: Ultimarc trackball with Golden Tee Complete
Post by: wirenut on April 15, 2014, 08:46:01 pm
Maybe this is a question for Andy over at Ultimarc but here goes...

I am about to start a new cabinet build and plan to put in Mame and a Golden Tee Complete PCB that I just picked up.  I looked at the manual for the Golden Tee and the trackball plugs straight into the PCB. (Not through Jamma)

I have a 3" Ultimarc trackball.  Will this work with the Golden Tee Complete without any kind of interface?

I would think it would almost certainly work.

The outputs from our unit are standard quadrature, as on other units.

Thanks for the response Andy and congrats on your new Ultimate interface!  I will be picking one up for the next project for sure.

So I am still a little confused on how to hook the trackball up to the Golden Tee's dedicated trackball connection.

I have attached a picture of the pinout that I found for the 6 pin connection on the Golden Tee board and also the U-Track Pinout.  Can someone please help me make since of this?  If I hook it up color for color will it work?   :dizzy:

Yes.

Red is 5v and black is ground.

If an axis is moving the opposite direction you expected, switch the data pair (yellow/green or blue/purple) for that axis.

Thanks a lot!  I'll be starting a build thread in the project section next week.
