I've seen a lot of references to using a 360 as the MAME host in a cab. I've got 3 of the fat models collecting dust that I'd love to put to use. They would NOT be used to play 360 games, just emulators, so I'm not worried about maintaining Live access or anything like that. Can anyone point me towards resources to make the hack? I've had zero luck finding the info on my own and I'm feeling a bit silly about that.

What is your search query? Did you search on youtube? I have a feeling if I posted a link it would get moderated.

Most of my search time is while I'm at work and YouTube is blocked. The vast majority of the Xbox modding I'm finding revolves around hacking the console to run "backups". I have no desire to do that. I'm just looking to use the console as an emulation host. I know I could always just use one of the old PC's I've got sitting around but I figure I might as well use the 360's that are collecting dust.

I looked awhile back and TBH the results were inconclusive I found you could do it, but it is an older version of MAME, 0.72 when I looked.
After the coinops situation, I don't know if I want to go through that again so I stopped. My 360 is still stock and I couldn't really find anything about the exploit to be able to get it to run.
I *think* if you get it to run XMBC you can use the plug in from there.

Thanks Eric. XBMC as a starting point should help get me somewhere. Thanks!
