Title: Open Ice : Philadelphia Flyers Edition (CPO added) New update 1/20/2015
Post by: Malenko on April 06, 2014, 08:38:55 pm
Recreated the Open Ice Logo with Flyer's Colors.  I kept the PSD but its like 64MBs (26x8 @ 300 DPI witll do that) so I need a host for it. Layers are in tact so it'll be easy peasy to change up the colors for any other teams out there. Forgive the JPG artifacting

something, *cough* octupus, something, Where is the Red Wings version?

I kid, I don't really follow sportsball, but its a neat way to personalize the artwork. Good share.

The PSD is up there with everything on its own layer to make it easy to customize, I only put up the "Coyotes Edition" cause Haruman texted me "Where's the Phoenix version?" lol

The PSD is actually a little different then the ones you see above, I fixed the spacing issue with the "challenge" part, moved the NHL and NHLPA logos outward more, and cleaned up the ice under the "center ice"
as seen below:

I know you were looking for the rest of artwork a couple of months ago.  Were you able to find it?

ok so I have the CPO pretty much done. Preview images attached.

I cant post the PSD its like 150 MBs but I can flatten the image and post PNGs or JPGs. I figured 2 versions, 1 with the Flyers & Wells Fargo, and one without?

Here is a view showing NBA Jam as a base:

And here is what the final version pretty much looks like:

By not labeling anything it leaves a lot of leeway for alignment.  I considered adding label buttons but definitely NOT adding button holes.

*link removed*   (116MBs)

Guess the side art is next?

Hey, this is pretty cool! I have a dedicated Open Ice (all original, unfaded cabinet) that is currently being stored at my cousin's house (he's a big hockey fan) and I'm sure he'd like some custom artwork. I'll ask him and see if something can be done. Btw, I did have to fix up the CP box a little...

ironically enough, your thread/pictures at KLOV were what I used as a base for the art.

I would absolutely love to own a real dedicated Open Ice. That and Arkanoid are the 2 cabs that have eluded me.  My plan for this (for now) is to put art over the MK4 cab sides, and putting art over the NBA Jam CP I have and faking an Open Ice cab.

EDIT: if you could scan the CP and marquee (and sides HA!) that'd be pretty great.  If you do end up using any of this and getting it printed, I'd LOVE to see side by side pictures.

You'll find that the NBA Jam/Open Ice cabs are slightly different than the MK(4) cabs. So it would take some tweaking to get the image to fit/look right. If I use the CP, I'll definitely show the comparisons.

I have no way to scan the sides unfortunately. My only option would be like what I did with my NBA Jam and MK3 cabs - taking them to my local digital photo lab and having the people there take high-res pictures and using Photoshop to clean them up/reproduce the art.

Welp for the sides I plan to make all new custom art (Like Bernie Parent between the pipes), I just want the factory images in case I ever get an actual Open Ice cab, sounds like a giant pain in the ass though.  If I had the hi res pix I can stitch everything together in Photoshop.  I guess he'd want the art in Dallas Stars colors? :)

If you're taking requests, I'd like to request Eric Lindros getting a concussion. You can choose which one to highlight.

I'd need like 10+ cabs to highlight all the concussions. When Lindros was a Flyer, I was an Avalanche fan.

links removed. Apparently recreating the art to help others is frowned upon by some.

re added the links
