Thanks to Oscar for that thread on the Vinyl laminate that is a cool alternative to standard laminate. I was asking my co-worker if he knew anywhere locally to get something like that, I told him that HD wants way to much for laminate and he showed me this stuff.

Not I...but it certainly sounds interesting! Unfortunately I have no money, so it will not be me testing this out.

It turns out to be the material used to make Flight Cases, it is highly durable and as thin as kitchen laminate yet a lot cheaper. I found a few people to go in with me so I am going to order some and give a whirl..

I LOVE formica and I'd be willing to entertain alternatives, especially in more arcade-friendly colors.
But 0.035" seems awfully thin! Although formica is thicker than necessary, this stuff might be too thin. I'd like to try this stuff though and see.

I was under the impression it would not scratch easy. I have a big flight case in the warehouse and I am going to go back and do small test with my pocketknife. :)
Update:
This stuff didn't scratch very easy with my knife. I did scratch it (and dug a groove in it) and it is a solid color all the way through (I called the company and confirmed) so the scratch doesn
