Title: CP will not work in rom

Hello to all.  I have a X-arcade Dual Joystick that I have built into my MAME cabinet.  Thea CP works in Mala and in basic note pad test, but when I actually start a game it doesn't, but the keyboard does.  I have tested it on the cabinet PC and my laptop to rule out it being the computer.   I have MALA 174 and am using MAME32 .90u1 (on both computers).  Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem, or any other ideas?  Thank you in advance for any and all help offered.

      Did you try mapping your keys in mame? When you start a game you hit tab on your keyboard and it goes into the key map screen.You can set your keys for 1 and 2 players there. If it works in notepad it should work in mame. I think the default keys for mame are different than the default keys for x arcade.

Yeah a quick remap did the trick.   Thank you for the help with my noob question
