Title: Mounting Screws (Black for Joystick)
Post by: wofat on December 03, 2003, 10:32:58 am
Where do you get the mounting screws for joysticks.  The blacks one would be preferred.  (I am referring to the ones with no screw head).

How do you install these?

They're called carriage bolts.  www.happcontrols.com has a 100 item minimum, so your best source for black is www.therealbobroberts.com, or you can buy silver ones at Home Depot and paint them.

Installation - You're supposed to have a small square hole that they lock into and then a nut holds them on from the bottom.  In reality, they won't work loose (use a locknut if you're paranoid) so often you just make a standard (thread size) hole and let the square part dig into the wood, or oversize the hole (in metal) to accomodate the square.
