Title: Mamewah - Help with movie clips preview not displaying???
Post by: shinejinx on March 19, 2014, 11:48:23 am
Guys forgive me if im in the wrong forum..

I'm a newbie to the forum, 1st time registered, long time reader.

My issue is i have just bought a used mame cab, with mamewah GUI, all working fine, until i switched on a couple of days ago had the windows system error saying it was corupt and repair it with windows xp cd, in which i did, and resolved the issue, but the MAMEWAH FE, does not display the the video previews, all else workis fine, im able to scroll and select games with joypad fine??

So double checked all the scripts which do point to the correct file path for the preview videos.. i have added the below pop up log that pops up then dissapears, with errors...

Than you for your help, i could not atthed the files for some reason,

Please, please can you advise im stressed with no mamewah experience...
lost hours of sleep double checking the scripts to no avail, the movies do play on vlc fine, but not on widows media player 9, as the codecs are missing, but in theory it should work in VLC.

I keep a copy of KLM Codec pack on my cabinet and installing that usually fixes video issues.

Q: I get a 'runtime error 13, type mismatch' when i try to run Mamewah?
A: This could be caused by a version mix-up, or corrupted list files. Delete the \mamewah\files folder, and it should fix your problem

Have you checked the format of the videos that play and those that don't? At least that might narrow down your codec issue.

Another way to check is to copy a file that will play and the ones that won't to a thumb drive and take them to a computer with internet access.

Play the one that works and check the codec data. (pull up file info in the player)

Do the same for the ones that don't work.

If it plays, compare the info.

If it wants to look for a codec, jot down the info or save the codec on the thumb drive and install it on your game system.

Is there and light codec that I could use instead k-lite ?
