Hi Folks,
I am looking to build a bartop cabinet as a gift and was only going to use one 4-Way Joystick and three buttons (not including Admin Buttons) for the cabinet. The theme will b based around Galaga, but I would like to add some other games to the mix. Can anyone suggest some games that would be best suited for the use of a 4-way joystick only cabinet?
Thanks.

You can use ROMLister to find all 4-way joystick games (or any other combination):

I can't think of a 4 way game that used 2 or more buttons. :dunno

Yeah, I can't think of a single 4-way game that uses more than 2 buttons. Not saying there aren't any, but they sure can't be very common.

This. It will give you one list with the parameters you specify. I can't do it on my work PC but am curious how many there are.
MAWS used to be able to do this too....

PunchOut!! uses 3 buttons and is 4 way. Even though it's technically 2 horizontal screens, it runs great in a vertical cabinet. However, you can still get away with only 2 buttons like I did by simply re-mapping the Uppercut button to the player 2 start button. (It's only 1 player so the 2 player button is not used).

Mouse Trap uses 4 buttons as well.
