Hello,
First let me say that yes I did do a search and have read the Real Bob Roberts wiring page. I'm hoping that this will be an easy one for those who have done this before...
I have a standard arcade coin door and I want to wire a JAMMA wiring harness so the lights, coins, and meter functions. I understand the 12v and ground, but have a couple of other questions
Here is a picture of the back of the coin door:

Look at the 5-wire plug in the top right of picture. The top 2 wires are run to the meter plug below. The black is the ground. The bottom wire is power. What is that gray wire for?

Also, volume, test, and service controls are mounted just inside the coin door:

Do I need to attach any wires from the JAMMA harness here and if so, which?

I thought I asked a pretty straight forward question and supplied pictures to make it easy. I guess this forum/hobby doesn't support newbies. Thanks all 62 viewers for nothing!

if the board is mame? then not really
if the board is like pacman/galga >then that is the volume contorl<,and >test switch<
some times the volume control is not required,the devil is in the details

Wires are:
1 GND
1 Coin Counter
1 Bulbs/Lights
1 Player 1 Coin in
1 Player 2 Coin in
There the five wires. Just trace it and you're set.

I just got home and just now saw this thread. I've been out all day today repairing pinball machines, arcade video monitors, and a CD jukebox today.
Your picture shows the back plate sub-assembly of a Coin Acceptors, Inc. (a.k.a. Coinco) model 2802 amusement game coin door. Where is the rest of the door?

Anyway, not everything is hooked up on your door. Someone has it minimally wired for just basic functions.
The black wire is common to the coin switches ("Common" terminal) and the outer shell of the light sockets.
The gray wire goes to the "N.O." (normally open) terminals of both coin switches. This would make both switches to be Coin Switch 1.
I can't see the color clearly, but it looks like the white with long red stripe is going to both of the center contacts of the lamp sockets.
It looks like the white with black banded wire is going to one side of the connector to the counting meter.
It looks like the white white red banded wire is going to the other side of the connector to the counting meter.
What is the operating voltage of the counting meter? It should be stamped on the meter along with the manufacturer's name. Which of the two meter connector wires is going to the banded end of the diode on that connector?
