Title: Low Profile PCI-Express Card Suitable for Soft15k?
Post by: steve8091 on March 15, 2014, 01:42:50 pm
As the title states, I'm looking for a low profile PCI-E card that will work with Soft15k.  It's going on a relatively old XP machine, so performance isn't particularly important, and price is.  I'm not terribly familiar with video cards, so you'll have to excuse my ignorance on this one.  To be clear, when I say "low profile", I'm saying that the bracket that mounts to the back of the case is about half of the length of a 'normal' card.  This is for a Dell Optiplex 745, if you're interested in seeing the details.

Any help would be appreciated.

i recommend something like this :

dirt cheap , easy to handle and soft 15 k / crt emudriver compatible . these cards are available with dvi+sub d adapter  or dms 59 port . in times running out of agp motherboards and 9200-9250 atis while pci express stuff dropping in price , they are the next step of lowcost emu evolution .

ps . i prefer crt emudriver with highly compatible ati cards and only use soft 15 k with nvidia cards , newer more performent atis or onboard gpu solutions. dell optiplex are also my first choice when it comes to small , cheap and powerful emulation comps .
another + is they are usually harbouring a standard pci xpress slot , so no riser card etc . needed . i got several sff 745 ,75x and 76x in use here , all equipped with radeon x300 , x600 and 4xxx series .
