Per forum rules, you need to have the location in the discription. Price and pictures wouldnt hurt either.

$1 Bob
-
that's way overpriced for a used pc. hahaha don't even talk to me about parts cost...i build them buddy. sad. don't buy this crap.
-
yeah, fully configured with everything you could ever need... if you built it, it would be close to 1700 without the OS. Nice try
-
Quite incorrect, just priced all your stuff and comes out to 1100 plus its used so there goes at least 1/4 if not half the value. Honestly not even a great build but hey we all cant build great stuff.

you not even running 1866 memory, no water cooling, and an amd video card. you also didn't post in the right section and this is your first post. way to go playa. nice intro. edit: why would you put the OS only on a 500gb drive. go with a smaller ssd. this system is not worth the cost.
-
I'm never one to chime in on a sales thread I'm not interested in but damn... I built a machine two months ago with more RAM, High end SSD and a way faster vid card for just under $1000.00. Trying to roll someone here! Must be banking on someone possibly biting on the installed free software.

Reminds me of KLOV...

Anyone that's interested in buying this can plug the specs into NewEgg and figure out if it's worth it for them or not. As for everyone else tire kicking...why? Just give it a rest - no reason to gang up.
If someone values the setup of HS, HL, etc in addition to the time to build it, let them buy it. For the record, in hardware and a legit copy of Win 7 I was at $1540 on NewEgg. That doesn't include a case (he didn't list one, but estimate $80) or shipping.
Some people on the forums charge $50 to solder a few wires and 'hack' a controller - no one get upset about that... and rightfully so, it's a service some people see value in and some don't. Move along.

retrogamedude, it would be nice if you included everything (power supply, candyboard keyboard) and used the same video card and Blueray burner. Of course yours came out lower, missing parts and picking weaker parts to proof a point is sad
-
DSNinja, what arcade setup runs water cooling? Are you serious? lol

I got $250 cash in hand all day long for a used, comparable system.

Do you solder? Yes? Great! Then offer this service for cheaper. No? Then 'shut' the ---fudgesicle--- up and 'sit' the ---fudgesicle--- down.
Good day.

You didnt provide all info for each, so its ballpark and its still worth half since its used. Whats sad is you trying to sell this for basically what its worth plus a bunch when its not even new. Not the brightest person but hey I need someone to serve me my fries at mcdonalds

I think the controller mods are a finely priced service. I can solder, but I also have a new baby in the house, so I outsourced.
Same in this regard... Maybe someone doesn't want to piece together the PC, be home to sign for it, put it together, mess with HS/HL, etc and looks at the $300 'premium' as worth it.
I think you missed the point of my... uh, point. Otherwise, you'd be telling all these tire kickers to fudge off.

What's sad is this conversation is still happening and for some reason you're making this personal. Just move along. If it's priced out of the market it won't sell - with or without people bitching and moaning. Perhaps if it doesn't sell in a week or two he will cut the price until it sells... Not that uncommon.
-
to the OP who asked me what arcade uses water cooling? haha you have an i7 in which mame won't even use all the cores. you have way more ram than any high end pc game today uses unless you're using a ramdisk which you aren't, and you don't even have fast ram. your system is garbage and you're trying to flip it at profit. you're like one of those seedy craigslist rom sellers selling a hard drive with some roms and tripling the price lol

Thousands hours went into setting this PC up and the time it would save another enthusiasts is invaluable!
Come on, give the guy a break! Considering it took thousands of hours to setup its actually dirt cheap :afro:
Just for fun, lets go with 2000 hours and assuming you spent around 20 hours a week on this setup .... that makes 100 weeks ... so roughly 2 years :laugh2:
-
Two years sounds about right to get Hyperspin setup correctly isn't it?
-
Yeah, that was the least outlandish thing in the post, I thought.
$250 cash in hand for used systems capable of Gauntlet Legends. :P

Went to your PC part page and saw I was a little high, but a lot closer than 1/2 you guys! Price dropped to reflect. Not to mention this is fully configured with HyperSpin. Something most of you guys don't have.
I never realized how uppity some of you guys are. In one breath saying my RAM is slow, then it's too much, I need water cooling, why do I have such a powerful processor. Come the **** on! Grow up
-
I don't think that a full hyperspin install is worth 1000$ but that's just me. I had a hard time getting it going. harder than most. I got it running on two cabinets...my vertical and horizontal in about a week. there is a torrent out there its 94gb and old but it works and im seeding it right now. just download that update the executables and you are 2/3 the way to a complete working hyperspin install.
This machine is way overkill for a mame machine or really any other emulator right now. you should really post it on craigslist as a gaming computer and compete with the other 100 guys selling gaming computers.

Regardless of the hardware configuration, which is not tailored to emulation nor to gaming, you have to ask yourself: why would anyone pay 1700 for a second hand system that they can buy new and fully installed (components + win7) with full warranty for the exact same price? The only upside you mention is a full hyperspin configuration and 'many more' software. But any second hand system you buy should be wiped clean asap, as you can never be sure if that system is compromised in any way (security, stability).

OTOH I still haven't got hyperspin set up :sadpanda:
