Title: Adjust porch settings in VMMaker.ini and mame.ini to resolve 25khz position?
Post by: msingleton1977 on February 27, 2014, 02:30:22 am
Hello! My 15khz games are perfectly sized and centered. However, my 25khz games are stretched a little too far and are off center. I’m guessing I just need to adjust the porch settings to resolve this. Do I do this in VmMaker.ini and generate new modes? Or, do I just do this in mame.ini. Or, do I have to do it in both. Thanks!

Monty

You usually just need to do this in mame.ini. GroovyMAME overrides the modes created by VMMaker, with its own modes calculated on the fly based on the settings specified in mame.ini. Once you find your right porch values, it is not a bad practice to port those to the VMMaker format and recalculate the modes so they're all centered for other emulators different than GroovyMAME.

OK, so Groovymame no longer needs VmMaker. Got it. Thanks!

I don't think that's what he means...
