Hi,
So this year I've finally taken the plunge and started building a Taitorama cabinet. Can anyone recommend what PC hardware would be good enough to run Win7.64 with Mame via Hyperspin, bearing in mind I'm only interested in playing 70s to early 90s games - no 3D at all.
Thanks in advance.

Why get fancy if you're only going up to the early 90s? Use an older PC, older version of MAME, and a barebones frontend.

I just want it to be nice and slick. I was thinking of this with 4gb ram.

And just dial back on the hyperspin animations.
