Title: SF2 Round button layout and other goofy conversions
Post by: mgb on February 21, 2014, 12:49:58 am
There seems to be a lot of talk about the best button layout for games.... 3 over 3, Japanese layouts and others.
but I've gotta ask, have any of us truly thought about the round layout?  ;D
I love how p1 and p2 don't even match.

How about a game of ARKNAKONG

Still my favorite is this Tapper converted to SF3.   Too much beer can lead to violence.

save some space by doing the button layout vertically.

Street Fighter is meant to be played with two fists... One around the left joystick and the other on top of all the buttons. Just roll your fist of fury around in a circular motion for ultimate combos!  :laugh2:

That makes me rage since I want a Budweiser Tapper badly. Then I see the marquee and laugh, how can a marquee that looks like it came from the late 70s be for SF3???

Here's a converted Tron someone showed me recently:

So sad. Hopefully I'll be able to save it if the price is right.

^How is that a Tron? Look again.
(Artwork doesn't matter in this case)

Sorry not a "Tron conversion", meant to say a "converted Tron". Long day. Edited post.

my dynamo cab had a diamond 3 button layout ON EACH SIDE of the joysticks so it was 3 buttons stick 3 buttons - same for player 2. so bad.

But I like having all my punches on one side in a triangle and my kicks on the other side, preferably in a triangle as well.

I remember the first time I played street fighter 2 was on some generic cabinet with only this type of buttons

Am I the only one who kinda thinks the Tapper - SF3 thing is actually... kinda cool?

I mean I'd much rather just have an original Tapper but...  that's kinda clever ish.

Well I guess it is nice to have a place to put your drink and you can put a foot up.
