Title: GGG's Electric Ice buttons with Ultimarc's PACLED64. Anybody tried it?
Post by: dfwpiper1 on February 14, 2014, 01:42:06 am
Has anyone tried to wire Groovy Game Gear's RGB-Drive II to Ultimarc's PACLED64? Can it be done? I love those ice buttons. Ultimarc has something similar but they've been out for awhile (And they're more expensive). And it looks like the Ultimarc's PACLED64 is something I want more than GGG's LED-Wiz. Ultimarc has a sweet harness with a connector to just click onto PACLED64 (see pic), but not sure if the led side would fit into GGG's Electric Ice buttons..... Or I could just get GGG's RGB-Drive II's for the button-side LED, and solder the wire ends to PACLED64. Either way seems kinda sucky.

Just wondering if anybody else has done just such a mash-up of proprietary products.... thoughts?

Ultimarc's harness... not even sure it's sold separate actually...

I have a special version of the RGB-DriveII which is designed for a different controller.  It has a 4-pin connector, and no resistors on-board, so it should be compatible.  If you are interested, it's $1 extra per unit.  Just note in the comments that you want the 4-pin version and agree to the extra charge.
