Post by: kz1911 on February 10, 2014, 07:20:40 pm
Anyone here ever use 1/2" tmolding on a cab? if so what size slot cutter did you use? i have a 1/16 thickness cutter that i used for the 3/4 molding but it has a thicker material than the 1/2"
any advice is appreciated

The t-molding.com site says 1/2" T-molding uses a 1/16" slot.

I have used 1/2" t-molding on A Little Rage. I used 1/2" thick MDF and the t-molding fit it just fine.

ok, i think it might work, the 1/16" just seems little too large for the 1/2" that's all, I think my cutter runs wobbly and makes the slot larger than it should that's why, might have to get another one

Cut a slot in a scrap piece of wood, cut off a short piece of your t-molding and test fit it in the scrap wood. Make sure it fits before you cut the slot in the cabinet. Better safe than sorry.
