There are things I have learned about this hobby, and things I don't know yet, so if I am repeating something that has been repeated tons of times before, please forgive me, and just point me in the right direction.
I know people have come up with front ends to try and show the games off better while navigating menus and things like that, and I was thinking about current horizontal monitors and mostly vertical old games ... did anybody ever come up with either a version of MAME or a front end that can use that extra side space to display artwork for the current game being played on the sides? Just seems like an interesting concept.

Mr. Do (http://mrdo.mameworld.info/mame_otherart.php) has some horizontal-mounted widescreen layouts (step-by-step directions here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133204.msg1372718.html#msg1372718)) and MAMELayPlus (http://mamelayplus.jimdo.com/descargas/) is a version of MAME that has horizontal-mounted and vertical-mounted widescreen layouts.
Both options ae covered in this (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133204.0.html) thread.
