Title: Ultimarc Arcade VGA 3000 output to 2 monitors?
Post by: SORHP on February 06, 2014, 10:09:37 am
Hey fellas, I have an original super punch out, it has the 2 original sanyo monitors, I have the dual output video card of my MAME machine hooked to 2 video convertors (VGA to CGA) and there is terrible video choppiness, if the image stands still it looks great, but when the action starts the video convertors just aren't doing the trick... so of course, I believe the answer to be the Ultimarc Arcade VGA 3000, I already have one, but have not attempted to install it, I need to know if the VGA and DVI can put out dual monitor 15khz signals, so I can have the 2 monitors working properly in this machine???

Thank you guys!

According to http://www.ultimarc.com/avgainf.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/avgainf.html)

Good luck! As I also have a VGA3000 over here, I would definitely be interested to hear whether or not it solves the stuttering issue

I'll let you know definitely, it bothers me that only "extended desktop mode" may be supported, I don't know, I guess I need to install it and see what happens, these monitors are beautiful, but damn it if I need 2 break out cables to do it, I guess, I'll be making cables and testing the next few days :)

So, I made one breakout cable and use one convertor (for the top monitor because quality won't matter for it, and it looks descent anyway as long as there is no side scrolling) I have windows 7 in this machine, and had hell trying to get it to work with these monitors, so, I am getting win XP and will test again later, maybe with a different machine entirely

Consider swapping out that top Sanyo for a VGA monitor or an LCD. I am assuming you are just using it for a menu/extra stuff like Playchoice does then it won't really matter.

Also, it is totally your machine, but most people don't rip into $900 games to do their mame projects.

Thank you for the suggestion ;)

It shouldn't be this hard, I'm thinking I just need to use XP, the bottom monitor is the one I should be pulling, but the goal is not to pull anything... I completely restored this machine from the ground up, I repaired the board over the course of a month alone, as it stands, this machine converts to original in under 2 minutes with monitor adjustment ;)

I kind of hope with the original boards and and monitors and control panel, that it's worth much more than 900;$)

I'm going to have to remember that apfelanni! Thank you , as it stands, today I installed xp, arcadevga 3000, and used a video convertor for the top monitor, everything is working well, but it took most of the day, maybe someday down the road I'll be a little more brave and go the route you went;)
