Title: Mini Cabinets - Free
Post by: bishmasterb on February 05, 2014, 01:19:58 am
Three desktop cabinets that I don't have time to finish. They are free, along with some Lexan and monitor bezels. Rubik's cube included in picture for scale. Construction is half-inch MDF.

I'm in the Kansas City area. Will ship for the cost of S&H.

I think I've got boxes, so the only cost will be shipping. Total weight should be 6 pounds or so, probably $15 or less in shipping.

I don't ship often, so if anyone knows the cheapest USPS method to ship, please post.

We are currently buried in snow, so give me a couple days.

Ditto.  Pm me your PayPal.  I'll send you cash to cover the shipping and pp fees.   Cheapest way and easiest way is to do it online through PayPal but you would need a scale to weigh package.  If you print via Paypal, you can get shipping discounts and usps will come pick it up @ your door

PMs going out.

Also, just wanted to make you guys aware about the size if it's not obvious from the pics. These things are pretty tight inside. There's absolutely no way any sort of typical PC board is fitting inside. My plan was to put circuit boards from a TV Games style unit into them. I imagine something like a Raspberry Pi could also fit.

yeap. I used to email tag him all the time after he left, and for some reason kept trying to get him to come back. Next time he deletes his all posts and leaves I'll leave it up to fate.

They shipped out today, sorry again for the delay.

I didn't see the PMs until this evening, so they've all went to the original buyers. If you guys want to resale, no worries. I'm just happy they'll be used because they've been rotting in my closet.

Could it actually be the back and not the bezel.  I often get the bezel mixed up with other things.  Like, say, the marquee.   :lol

hahahahaha, its the big square thing in front of the blue cab in your picture, its got the shape of a bezel but its too big to go over the screen.

I must say Im VERY impressed with the construction of this thing. Very solid. USPS mucked up the paint so Im gonna sand and redo it but its a great little cab man, thanks again. And including the plexi was fantastic. attatched is a poorly photoshopped mocked up

Haha, yes definitely the back. I said bezel in my original post, but meant to say the plexiglass lexan.

Sorry that the paint got mucked! I thought for sure wrapping them in batting and then a couple layers of cardboard would be sufficient.

The mockup rocks!

its an obvious rough shipping mark, no matter what you do USPS can ALWAYS slam a package, or put something mega heavy on top.  It was well packed, I dont think you could have done anything to prevent it.  I went for the green for the shape, not the color =)

i don't see any reason why an itx machine wouldn't fit in there.

I'm going to measure everything and take a bunch pix tonight, time permitting.  Its a pretty tight fit inside, Im actually considering taking apart a Gameboy SP or something for the guts

I agree Malenko.  A smaller form factor PC would be nice but they tend to take up more space than you would think.  I thought I would have enough room in my weecade but once I got the motherboard, the monitor, power supply, and power source plus the control panel space went bye bye real quick.  After seeing all these micro builds on here I can't imagine getting a gameboy to work would be that hard.  Even if you are only playing one game.  ie Ninja Turtles.

They're incredibly tight inside. I think a Gameboy is a perfect idea.

What about a used PSP with the hacked firmware? They have TV-out cables you can get. PSPs are awesome for emulation.

Got mine thx.  Was also thinking about psp but wondering what to do with screen.  I assume joys would be easy to hack but psp has so many buttons and would need to be selective with button choices.  Any ideas on screens?

Edit: Was also thinking of one of those cheap knock off consoles with an ARM processor they sell on deal extreme.  some have acceptable emulation w/ a monitor
