Hi,
i was trying to test a TV with the suggestion to ad the resolutions to ReslList.txt and
disabling ListFromXML in VMMaker.ini.
If i do that not even my desktop is sync.
If i let VMMaker generate the resolutions then i have 105 that all work.
Also the desktop works ad 640x480@60.
If i use the ReslList.txt examble from here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,116014.msg1240447.html#msg1240447 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,116014.msg1240447.html#msg1240447)
then 640x480@60 does not work.
Another question is:
Whats the benefit if the TV can go up to 17kHz?
I mean the resolutions in Mame are only
224
232
480
256

You're just modifying the desktop modeline in a totally indirect way. To draw any valid conclusing, you need to check which modeline is being generated and used for the desktop in each situation, and which ones work and which ones don't, and why.

The only benefit is to be able to run vertical games on a horizontal monitor, at the correct refresh. Think of 1942, if you run it rotated it's 256 lines at 60 Hz. You can't achieve that with 15.7 kHz, but you can with 16.67 kHz.
