Title: Just arrived
Post by: vandale on February 01, 2014, 05:13:56 am
Hi all,

Look what just arrived. no game boards. everything else is there.

I have already built a number of linked model 2 cabs and still have a twin in my games room so not sure what I should do with this one.

Last twin I built was GT6 with PS3's as per my thread a month or so back.

I might put it in storage and wait until supermodel has network link, or demul aswell.

I understand that Battle Gear 3 ran on system 246 which is just a modified PS2. Has the arcade rom ben ripped and modified to run on a consumer model ps2, if so there is my answer?

Any ideas?
Thanks

beautiful. I wish I could afford a sitdown cabinet. how much did you pay? Theres a battle gear 3 version for the PS2 but it did not play well in pcsx2 for me but it seems other have had better luck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb-UMwRIUPg (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb-UMwRIUPg). They made very preliminary progress on getting system 246 running on pcsx2 but, the main devs did not seem interest in pursuing it so, i doubt we will get the arcade version running anytime soon.  http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PCSX2-works-with-the-Namco-System-246-BIOS (http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PCSX2-works-with-the-Namco-System-246-BIOS)

you might be able to local lan with 2 ps2 and the ps2 version of the game. A quick google showed battle gear 2 had local lan but im not sure about 3. it seem like 3 had its own online network which im sure is now down

I believe I over paid at $400NZD + a TT01 radio control car worth about $100NZD. I only think this as the Battle Gear 2 cab I got was in a lot better condition and that only cost me $200 in parts and the labour to convert a SF2 world warrior into a SSF4AE Taito X2 emulated cab which was only approx 5 hours work.

I see a working BG3 is approx. $3k USD + shipping to NZ which would be around 1k USD so if I look at it that way its not too bad.

Cheers

Yep that's what happened with the BG2 cab I made for PS3's. If I do a PC based emulated cab then I will use the high res CRT's as they are in good condition.
If I do a PC or console game cab then yep she will get 1080P 32inch screens squeezed in.

Cheers

Don't feel bad.  I'm in the middle of nowhere.  It's very hard to find anything that I can pick up.  That's why I tend to build all my stuff from scratch.  ;)
