Title: Keywiz problem

I'm using Keywiz for my desktop cabinet.

I soldered everything a while ago, hooked up the buttons & joysticks and everything was fine, so I mounted it in the cabinet.

Now, 2 weeks later, the controls aren't working. Keywiz causes the computer to beep when I plug it in as if the input is invalid. When i try running keyscan, nothing comes up. I've tried this on 2 different computers with the same results.

My solders & joints all look sound, I've disconnected from all the controls, and I still have the same problem.

Can anybody help?

I've now desoldered everything so am left with just the PCB with no wired hanging off it, still does the same thing.

The problem I'm having has been tracked down to my wierd motherboard (pulled from an old industrial system).

I'm still very happy with the keywiz.

I have a wierd motherboard, that was the problem. Keywiz wouldn't work with it. I reflashed the bios with a more up to date version, and it's now working.

The quality of keywiz, and the customer support is second to none.

From the info I've been able to find out about it, it's meant for industrial usage, and because of that I think it has a few quirks.

In future, I wouldn't worry in the slightest about incompatibilities with motherboards if even this wierd one I have is now working.

I emailed him at 1 AM one night to tell him my Shazam key didn't seem to be working right. When I pushed it, I'd get a "Page Down" sent to the computer. At 1:24 AM, he emailed me back and told me to check the button wired to some other terminal block, and that I'd notice my switch was wired in the NC instead of NO position. I'll be damned if he wasn't right. It would have taken me forever to figure that out, and he solved it like he was a psychic. Thanks, RandyT! The Keywiz is definitely worth it.
