Title: Harmony One Remote with PC?
Post by: Chazz on January 27, 2014, 02:06:05 pm
Hey gang!
Just wondering if anyone knew what kind of connection I need to use my 'Harmony One' remote with my PC?  Mostly for use with XBMC.

Thanks!

To my knowledge The Harmony One is a Infrared remote not Radio Frequency so you should be able to purchase a Remote Control USB Receiver with IR Cable to run to your HTPC.  I found a couple cheap one's on ebay just by doing a quick search.

I have the exact setup also for use with XBMC. Just buy any cheap Windows media Center remote that comes with a USB IR receiver. And in your Harmony setup just have the PC device setup as a MCE Windows PC.

My Harmony One has been chugging along for a few years now with no issues, other then needing to replace the rechargeable battery on occasion. Good luck.
