So I have my ms. PAC cocktail
It's pc mobo to JPac to Jamma boards Pacman to Jamma converter..
Then converter edge connector to the harness of the Ms pacman cocktail arcade. This is all non destructive btw..
I have the Jamma boards dip switches on 1-3 and 2-4 which disable the player 1 start button to be used at fire..
On my cocktail control panel I have two buttons wired up straight to the jamma boards button one and two..
The start buttons and 4 way stick are standard..
Problem is that when I hit button one it registers 1 and 2 At the same time which in groovy Mame registers as Left Cntrl and left Alt at the same time. Vice versa is the same as well..
Wired thing is that player one start and player two do the exact same thing..
4 way controls work perfectly..
The self test light on the JPac is solid on.
Any thoughts, is a board defective or did I wire up something wrong or put the ground wire to the wrong spot on the Jamma to pacman adapter??
Any ideas, very weird ?,

I'm leaning toward a ground issue?

I had the same issue with my Ms Pacman upright. Jumpers worked fine as long as you want the player 1 and 2 buttons to act as fire buttons but the setting that was supposed to disable this behavior did not work properly.
After following the traces on the board it was obvious this would not work as documented. I discovered you needed to disregard the instructions and remove both jumpers.

I'll try that, thank you

Thank you bigtime!
